Digital Imaging Services

Digital Imaging involves the conversion of paper records to electronic data.  This is often referred to a "Scanning" for simplicity.  Traditional paper storage or archiving is a time consuming and costly method of document storage.  The actual costs of using a paper record is more than the cost of scanning it.  A cost savings analysis is available to help determine the approximate costs.  Traditional (paper based) work practices have evolved to the stage where they have become accepted as the norm and little regard is made of the time and costs involved to the business.

The main benefit of electronic storage is an immediate reduction in the cost involved in recovering and preparing papers, and the time required sending hardcopy documents.  After scanning, staff have instant access to records from their desktop and this allows the job to be completed without the need to leave a workstation.  Any additional notations can be made directly at the workstation and an e-mail transmission of documentation can be sent to multiple recipients without the cost and delay of copying, faxing, postage and the administrative overhead of preparing them to be sent.

A further benefit of digital storage is the elimination of any potential loss of information by either the loss of individual documents , in the case of a disaster,  or by the unexpected degradation of the records themselves.  The financial loss in a single instance could quantify the cost in both situations.
